Historic Images of Royal Oak, D. Penney, 2001

The beautiful little park that stood where the present Royal Oak City Hall, Police Building, and Library are now located (between Troy and Williams Streets, and between First and Third Streets (from a large colored photograph in the library). Looking east - see a water garden, walks, the plaque on a large boulder honoring the early Volunteer Fire Department (now at the corner of Williams and Third), the flagpole, the old City Hall at right on the corner of Troy and Third Streets, and houses beyond on Third Street.
